What we count

We count page views, searches, downloads and which manuals are viewed online. That shows us which manuals people need and which are missing. For each visit we record the page, the language of the site and of the manual, the country (worked out from your IP address), the type of device and browser, and the website you came from. We look up the country in a local database on our own server, so your address is not sent to anyone. IP geolocation by DB-IP

What we do not store

We never store your IP address. To count unique visitors per day, we combine your IP address and browser with a random value that changes every day, and keep only the result. After midnight that value is deleted, so we cannot recognise you on another day. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, we only count the visit, without that daily code.

How long we keep it

Individual events are deleted after 13 months. Daily totals, such as the number of downloads per manual, are kept with no end date. They contain nothing about individual visitors.
